Event Hosts at Times Square’s Military Island
	Pat Battle joined News 4 New York in April 1996. She serves as co-anchor for “Weekend Today in New York” and is one of the station’s New Jersey correspondents assigned to NBC4’s news bureau based in Moonachie, NJ. Battle’s reports focus on issues affecting the Garden State, as well as breaking news of the day.
	David Ushery is co-anchor of “News 4 New York ” with Sue Simmons weekdays at 5PM. In addition to filing reports for various newscasts, Ushery has also co-anchored the weekday newscast at 6PM, the station’s 6PM and 11PM weekend newscasts, and has also anchored for “Weekend Today in New York” on Saturday and Sunday mornings

La Trice Verrett is a multi-talented and multi-faceted entertainer and business woman. As a singer, a BMG/Universal published songwriter and a former member of the 4 time Grammy Award winning group The Sounds of Blackness, La Trice has had the privilege of traveling the world and sharing her talents. Singing professionally since the age of eight, she has been truly blessed to share the stage with such greats as Kirk Franklin, India Irie, Luther Vandross and Queen Latifa just to name a very few.

	Hal Jackson is a disc jockey, multiple stations, 1939-; radio station owner, 1970s-; WBLS, group chairman; Inner City Broadcasting Corporation, vice president, group chairman; Hal Jackson's Talented Teens International, sponsor.
	Michelle Miller is one of a handful of African American journalists who have made an impressive mark on news reporting from coast to coast. She currently serves as New York-based correspondent and fill-in anchor for CBS News. Her 18 year career in broadcast and print journalism includes work with the Los Angeles Times, the Star Tribune in Minneapolis, WWL TV Channel 4 in New Orleans , WIS TV in Columbia, South Carolina, the Orange County Newschannel and ABC News Nightline in Washington, DC.

Posthumously Receiving The Torch of Freedom Award

LIEUTENANT MICHAEL PATRICK MURPHY (May 7, 1976 – June 28, 2005) was a United States Navy SEAL posthumously awarded the United States military's highest decoration, the Medal of Honor, for his actions during the current War in Afghanistan. He was the first person to be awarded the medal for actions in Afghanistan; and the first member of the U.S. Navy to receive the award since the Vietnam War.
