So many of your have been integral in providing literally TONS and TONS of support to the 2-503 while they are deployed for 15 months to eastern Afghanistan. These Warriors and their fellow Battalions in the Brigade have endured so much and still have a few months to go before they redeploy to Europe. As one last "Thank You" and to stamp our seal of appreciation on their deployment we are planning a Fourth of July "style" welcome home party for the 2-503. Of course there is just one tiny little detail or two...1) They are home based in Vicenza, Italy and have no American community to provide a proper welcome home and 2) We need to raise the funds to send over there for some good old American hot dogs, hamburgers, trimmings and BEER!

Great post! My Hero just came home, and I have to make sure he's okay. He was in the jihad-path for 15 months. I expect it may take some time, but he is strong. He has faith in Christ, and he is loved by his children. I sure pray this helps. Keep doing the good work you are doing. You will be blessed.
Rosemary ~ I'm so happy to hear that your hero is home and safe. Please give him my sincerest thanks for all he does each day when he puts on that uniform!
Long Island Girl ~ Thank you so much for posting this and for your unending support of the 1-503 and many other Soldiers, Airmen, Sailors and Marines. While there are many great Americans like you out there we need more!
THANK YOU! The soldier in the picture is 173rd 2/503rd Sky Angel, SFC Matthew Blaskowski. He was KIA 23 Sept 2007.
We want his comrades in the 2/503rd Battalion serving over in Afghanistan, to return to Italy and see and know just how many PATRIOTIC Americans CARE about them and that we haven't forgotten about them. We do this in HONOR of the living soldiers of 173rd Airborne and in MEMORY of all who've lost their lives serving in the 173rd Airborne Brigade!
No thanks are needed, anything I can do to help, I will. Nothing can replace your son, but perhaps some small joy can dilute the grief. Joy coming from the knowledge that you are helping your son's brothers come home to a celebration fitting their honorable service to their country and its citizens. May God watch over them until they return to Italy and their loved ones. I pray for their comrades also at WRAMC, they are NOT forgotten either. I THANK YOU!
